BLACK HISTORY MONTH SPOTLIGHT: MEET DEIARA 'DEE' CAMPBELL
As Black History Month continues, we are honored to celebrate Black members of our Firehouse Subs® family and their incredible accomplishments within restaurants and local communities.
Deiara ‘Dee’ Campbell joined Firehouse Subs® Headquarters in November 2020 as a Field Marketing Manager based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. At the beginning of this year, Dee was awarded the 2022 David Berlin Award, a company-wide honor given to the Firehouse Subs® team member who received the most 'Awesome Award’ nominations and accolades from fellow employees throughout the year.
When asked what the favorite part of her job is, Dee noted, “I love team collaborations and working with the franchise community. It’s always fun and challenging to find new ways to help local business owners drive guests into their restaurants.”
As a proud alumna of North Carolina A&T State University, the largest public Historically Black College or University (HBCU) in the country, she is a tried-and-true fan. Dee notes that “Aggie Pride” is worldwide and every time she travels for work or pleasure while sporting school paraphernalia, she is met with enthusiastic greetings and fellowship from fellow alumni.
When asked what inspirational advice she would give young marketers who aspire to advance in their careers, Dee shared, “Control what you can and let the rest be a lesson. There have been several times in my career that I thought one thing or another would happen, and the opposite did. Lessons learned along the journey have proven to be invaluable, always helping me in the next step in life!”
