BRINGING IT HOME: MEET FIREHOUSE SUBS DISTRICT MANAGER JOCELYN CAMPBELL

BRINGING IT HOME: MEET FIREHOUSE SUBS DISTRICT MANAGER JOCELYN CAMPBELL
Today is National Food Service Employees Day, a day set aside to recognize, appreciate, and thank the staff that works in the food service industry.
As a way to bring recognition to the holiday, we spent the week highlighting our best and brightest leaders in the U.S. Firehouse Subs restaurants system. To wrap up the series, we’re spotlighting someone from the brand’s hometown of Jacksonville, Florida – meet District Manager Jocelyn Campbell.
At just 17 years old, Jocelyn began her journey at Firehouse Subs as a restaurant crew member. She quickly grew within the company and was promoted to shift leader, then general manager. Now, 14 years later, Jocelyn oversees seven company-owned restaurants across the Jacksonville market as a district manager. Remarkably, Firehouse Subs has been Jocelyn’s only employer her entire career!
Throughout her time at Firehouse, Jocelyn has consistently gone above and beyond. Firehouse Subs Director of Company Operations Steve Kaplan says that Jocelyn “100% lives our culture with over the top Heartfelt Service.” Kaplan also adds, “She deeply cares about her team and is genuinely a good human being. The guests enjoy Jocelyn's personality and her ability to remember and recognize guests across her seven restaurants – even if she has not seen them in a long time.”
Additionally, Jocelyn has spent time as a dedicated coach and mentor for many of the restaurants’ general managers in Jacksonville. “Jocelyn’s performance reflects her effort, and she always builds her own bench,” says Kaplan. “We are very fortunate to have Jocelyn on our team and part of the Firehouse Subs Family.”
Her dedication goes beyond that though, as she is also passionate about Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation – noting that it’s just one of the things that makes her most proud to be part of the Firehouse Subs family.

- How long have you been an employee at Firehouse Subs and what positions have you held?
I have been with Firehouse Subs for 14 years; the BEST 14 years ever! I started at the age of 17 and worked my way up from crew member all the way to my current role as district manager for our company-owned restaurants. This has also been my first and only job in my entire career and I couldn’t be more happier!
- What’s your favorite part about working at Firehouse Subs?
The best part would definitely be the culture and people! There is nowhere else on this earth that compares to Firehouse Subs; down to the guest service, quality, and feeling like a part of one big family! I am so lucky to be able to coach, mentor and train my amazing team of General Managers to continue this great legacy.
- What is your favorite Firehouse Subs sandwich?
The classic Hook & Ladder® – add banana peppers!
- Describe a moment that made you proud to be part of the Firehouse Subs family.
The day the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation was established. To be able to help and allow our guests to give back to local first responders and donate to better help our communities is something so special. The Mermaids for Morgan fund is also very near and dear to me as she was not only an amazing coworker of mine for Firehouse, but also a great friend. To have a fund in her name to bring awareness to others will be something that will ALWAYS make me proud!
- Do you have any kids and/or pets?
I have two amazing boys. Carter who is 3 and Bryson who is 9. They truly are my world!
- How do you feel about pickles?
I LOVE PICKLES! Especially Firehouse Subs Pickles!
- What do you enjoy doing when you’re not selling subs and saving lives?
I enjoy spending quality time with my husband and kids. Our favorite spot is the beach of course! We also love riding our golf cart around the neighborhood and fishing. Also, our oldest has started Pop Warner football and we spend Saturdays cheering Bryson and his team on for a win!
