Love in Ann Arbor: Meet Firehouse Subs Franchisees Bill and Kelly Boyd

It’s the season of love and in celebration of Valentine’s Day on February 14, we are recognizing some of the outstanding franchisee couples in the Firehouse Subs family. 

Franchisees Bill and Kelly Boyd might be recent additions to the Firehouse Subs Family, but these Michiganders’ love story actually began at summer camp over thirty years ago. Deeply entrenched in their local community, the Boyds are now proud parents to three children. 

We are proud to welcome the Boyds to Firehouse Subs – learn about Bill and Kelly, and what this new venture means to them around Valentine’s Day.

How long have you owned your Firehouse Subs restaurants with your spouse? 

We opened our Ann Arbor, MI restaurant just earlier this year in January 2022. 

What’s your favorite part about working together? 

The best part about working together is getting to spend more time together.

What’s one thing that most people don’t know about owning and operating a restaurant with your spouse?  

When your spouse is your best friend, working together doesn't feel like work.

What activities do you enjoy doing together outside of your restaurants?

We enjoy traveling together and often go to Walt Disney World. Road races and wine tasting are also two of our hobbies!

What advice do you have for couples who work together?  

Have fun and don't take yourself too seriously.

What does your ideal Valentine’s Day look like? 

Our ideal Valentine’s Day is simply watching a movie with a nice bottle of wine and a roaring fire.

What are each of your favorite Firehouse Subs? 

Bill enjoys the Smokehouse Beef & Cheddar Brisket™, while Kelly’s favorite is the Spicy Cajun Chicken.
